FAQ

Do you do custom work?

It depends on my availability and what the custom work entails. Please send me a message, either through my website or on Instagram. All custom work requires a deposit.

Can I buy your beadwork if I'm not indigenous?

Yes, you can! Beadwork is not strictly an indigenous art. You are supporting me, an Indigenous artist, meaning that you are appreciating and not appropriating. By supporting my work, you are making it possible for me to connect with my culture.

How long does it take you to make a pair of earrings?

This depends on the design. Simpler pairs can take about an hour. Some of the more complex pairs can take four hours. These times usually only account for the time it takes to make one pair, and does not include the time to come up with a new design or the trial and error often associated with a new design. Always consider that for many creatives, the time it takes to create something is not the only thing that goes into a finished piece.

What materials do you use for the metals?

I use silver-plated brass or gold-plated brass. The hoops I use are silver-plated steel. The materials for each pair are listed in the product description of each product. These products do not contain nickel. If you have any questions about the materials, feel free to reach out.

How do you price your work?

I use a pricing formula to ensure that the prices reflect the time and energy I put into each piece. The pricing formula adds hourly labor, materials, a 20% profit margin. My beadwork is not just about beads, there are stories of strength and reclamation in every part of my art. Buying beadwork is not a necessity, so I appreciate those who are able to support me and carry the love I put into the work.

Sales tax is added upon check out on my website. During in-person sales (such as markets), tax is included in the price displayed on my table.

Do you fix or repair broken beadwork?

If the beadwork was made by me and was damaged, please feel free to contact me. I will assess it on a case-by-case basis. If they were not made by me, I would prefer not to be contacted regarding repairs.
